GIVEAWAY + WEEKEND RECAP: ENSIS at the BOOT

The Düsseldorf International Boat Show has officially kicked off! ENSIS is thrilled to be part of the action at Hall 17 by the indoor pool, from January 18–26, 2025. This past weekend was packed with excitement: the world’s first indoor pumpfoiling and wingfoiling racing event, gear showcases, interviews, and more. And there’s still plenty to come! Meet the team, learn about our latest products, and even try some gear indoors. Here is what has happened so far.

Opening Ceremony

The BOOT opening ceremony took place by the indoor pool, and Balz Müller played a key role in the event. During the ceremony, Balz gave a wingfoiling performance on the water, captivating the audience and officially welcoming attendees to the show. His energy set the tone for an unforgettable week ahead.

Indoor Pool Action

The indoor pool became a hotspot of activity over the weekend, hosting the first-ever indoor wingfoiling competition. Organized by the GWA team, this event also served as the launchpad for the SFT (Surf Foil World Tour). The new tour will introduce fresh foiling disciplines such as surf foiling, e-foiling, downwinding, and pumpfoiling. The first event of the tour featured a pumpfoiling race that drew plenty of attention.

Wingfoiling Races

The indoor wingfoiling races presented unique challenges. Wind generated by fans was turbulent and gusty, and the shallow pool required precision and skill. Despite these hurdles, the riders delivered an incredible show. The format was a sprint time trial, with riders racing to complete the course as quickly as possible. The fastest times advanced to the next round. Balz Müller showcased his talent, blazing through the course to secure second place overall.

Pumpfoiling Races

In the pumpfoiling event, riders navigated a zig-zag slalom course marked by buoys in a head-to-head format.

Two competitors started simultaneously, with the first to finish advancing to the next round. It was a full-on pumpfoil drag race that tested the riders’ stamina and skills. Balz and Michi gave it their all, putting on a fantastic performance and having a blast in the process.

The ENSIS Booth

The ENSIS booth at Hall 17 has been a hub of activity throughout the weekend, attendees had the chance to experience everything ENSIS has to offer.

Over the weekend, enjoying tech talks with the team, diving into the details of the lastest products like the ROGER parawing and even having the opportunity to learn about some unreleased products.

The ENSIS booth is the perfect place to meet the team, explore the full range of products, and learn more about what makes ENSIS gear stand out. For those eager to get hands-on, the indoor pool is still open for trying out the latest ENSIS gear. The ENSIS team is ready to share the passion. Maybe take Balz’s recommendation with a pinch of salt ….
