Roca Cup Returns – A Foiling Celebration at Almanarre

After a few years away, the Roca Cup made its anticipated return in 2025 – and delivered a weekend to remember. Held from April 4–6 at the iconic Almanarre Beach in France, the event brought together riders of all levels for three days of non-stop action, good vibes, and ideal wind conditions.

A Watersports Festival for Everyone
Known for its steady breeze and scenic coastline, Almanarre proved to be the perfect location once again. True to its roots, the Roca Cup remained an open and accessible event, welcoming newcomers, seasoned riders, and everyone in between to share the wind and water.

On the Water
The Roca Cup was packed with action, covering all corners of the foil world. Racing brought out the competitive spirit, with riders charging through the course in tight heats. Balz came out on top, claiming the win after some exciting battles on the water.

When the wind dropped, pumpfoiling took over. Riders kept moving with smooth dock starts and long glides, showing just how much fun you can have even in light conditions.

A big first for the event was the parawing race – and it didn’t disappoint. With all the pressure and competition of racing, plus the added difficulty of a new discipline, it was an exciting watch. I wonder if we’ll see more parawing racing in the future. Balz took the win here too.

Then there wassyncro freestyle, a mix of performance and playfulness. Balz and Thomas kicked things off, riding in rhythm and throwing tricks in sync. It turned into a group session, with more riders joining in and keeping the energy high.

Balz went on to show off some parawing freestyle leaving spectators confused and amazed at the same time.

From competition to creativity, there was always something happening on the water — and plenty of smiles to go with it. ENSIS sponsored a ROGER as the first-place prize for the wingfoil racing, which Balz won and gave away to the crowd, in typical Balz spirit!
Off the Water
The fun didn’t stop on the shore. Between sessions, the beach buzzed with good food, music, and easygoing hangs. Riders, friends, and families came together to relax, catch up, and swap stories from the water. Whether it was grabbing a bite, tuning a setup, or just soaking up the sun, the atmosphere stayed light and welcoming — a reminder that events like the Roca Cup are just as much about the community as the riding.

A Huge Thank You
The event was a tremendous success, with wind across all three days and a beach full of activity from morning to sunset. A massive thank you goes to Flora Artzner, the Roca Cup event organizer and ENSIS team rider, for bringing the event back in such a meaningful way.
And of course, thank you to the ENSIS team – Balz, Thomas, and Eva – for representing the ENSIS spirit with energy, enthusiasm, and nonstop involvement. We’re already looking forward to the next one.
