Why a JIVE?
Product description
The JIVE is a versatile mid-length foil board inspired by our WALTZ and ROCK’N’ROLL. Its well-balanced design places extra board length behind the foil box, reducing swing weight for a compact feel while still benefiting from increased waterline length. The pin tail and sharp rails ensure quick water release for fast take-off, while the front section of the deck is recessed, ensuring the entire standing area aligns parallel with the foil for agile and intuitive riding. With its early lift and well-balanced shape, the JIVE is ideal for parawinging and wingfoiling. Whether freeriding, racing, or maximizing light wind conditions, it delivers a controlled and responsive foiling experience. The smallest 46l model is optimized for surf foiling, making paddling into waves easy and take-offs effortless. Designed for intermediate to expert riders.

Key Features
For intermediates to experts
The mid-length design is narrower than traditional boards, making it best suited for intermediate riders.
Early & efficient lift
The long, narrow shape generates speed effortlessly, allowing you to get on the foil with minimal effort. Compared to traditional board shapes, the JIVE enables you to use a smaller wing or foil in the same wind conditions.
Great stability
The JIVE has excellent stability in the water thanks to its well-balanced volume distribution. With volume concentrated in the center, it keeps you steady, while the tucked-in rails let the board sit deeper in the water, increasing stability when off the foil.
High agility
The JIVE feels quick and intuitive underfoot, thanks to its well-balanced design. The foil box is positioned further forward, while the extra board length is added behind the foil. This minimizes swing weight, making turns snappy and precise.
Responsiveness and control
The front deck section of the board is recessed and designed to be parallel with the foil tracks. This lowers your center of gravity, improving control, balance, and provides a more direct and intuitive foiling experience.
Radical carving
The JIVE’s spacious deck extends all the way to the rails, giving you plenty of room to position your feet for maximum control. This allows for precise foot placement, enabling smooth, powerful carves and radical turns.
Quick rebound
The diamond-shaped nose and rocker help recover quickly from touchdowns, keeping you on the foil during downwinders and wingfoil sessions.
Lightwind wing foil
Minimal drag and excellent planing make it easy to build speed and take off, even in marginal conditions, allowing you to get the most out of light wind sessions.
Racing wing foil
The pintail design makes it easy to pump and generate speed, allowing you to ride a smaller foil.
Wave & Prone
The JIVE 46L is tuned for surf foiling, featuring a wider tail and rounder rails in the front for easy paddling and smooth take-offs and touch downs. It pairs perfectly with foil assist setups.
Tech Features
Solid and light
The JIVE is made in a carbon sandwich construction with superior material qualities, resulting in a light and strong hull.
Footstrap options
All boards are equipped with inserts for 2 front and 1 back foot straps. Well positioned for comfortable riding.
Convenient carrying
Handle on the bottom of the board for convenient carrying with mounted foil.
Safety leash plug
Reinforced leash plug on the tail end of the board.
Accessories

The board bags are perfectly tailored for each size of the ENSIS JIVE, all featuring padded shoulder straps, carry handle and a middle split so you’re able to use the bag while the foil is mounted.
Coil waist leash
The ENSIS waist leash has a 6 cm wide, padded velcro loop with two buckles (waist 70 - 110 cm) and heavy duty swivels. At full length it measures 240 cm long.
Coil knee leash
The ENSIS coiled knee leash has a padded velcro loop and a heavy duty swivel. At full length it measures 140 cm long.
Footstraps
ENSIS footstraps offer a comfortable fit, a memory fitting and a screw system.
Freeride & Race Wing
The JIVE’s streamlined shape and sharp rails let you generate speed effortlessly, making take-offs smooth and easy. The pintail design allows for efficient pumping and ensures quick acceleration, so you can get on the foil with minimal effort. Whether cruising or racing, you’ll have the confidence to lift off every time.
Lightwind Wing, Parawing and Downwinders
Lightwind Wing
The JIVE’s maximizes light wind conditions, its long, narrow shape and flat bottom help you build speed effortlessly. The perfect amount of nose rocker prevents the nose from sinking, while the sharp rails ensure optimal water release, making take-offs easy – letting you foil when others are stuck waiting.
Parawing and Downwinders The JIVE is the ideal parawing board. Its well-balanced shape and reduced swing weight make it feel light and responsive in the air. Whether carving downwind swells or riding ocean waves, you’ll have the confidence to get on the foil quickly and reliably, allowing you to navigate the surf with ease. “The JIVE is an absolute blast for parawinging! It pops up effortlessly, and I can carve through lake swell with ease. Every ride is pure joy.” – Michi “Rawham” Näf
JIVE in Action
Tech Talk: JIVE
We’re stoked to spotlight the ENSIS JIVE mid‑length foil board in our Tech Talk video - expert insights from Michi Näf and Balz Müller that break down what makes this board a standout across wing freeride, race, lightwind, parawing and prone setups.
The ENSIS JIVE is a midlength wing and parawing foil board designed for early lift, high speed and efficient riding. It is ideal for freeride, light wind sessions, racing with smaller foils downwinders.
What is a midlength board?
A midlength board is longer and narrower than a traditional, compact wingfoil board. The longer waterline creates more speed before take-off, making lift-off easier and more efficient.
Does the JIVE lift-off earlier than a traditional board?
Yes. The long shape and balanced volume help you generate speed quickly. This allows earlier and more efficient take-offs, especially in light wind.
Is it stable in the water?
Yes. The volume is concentrated in the center of the board. This offers a stable standing position while keeping the board compact in the air.
Is the JIVE good for light wind?
Yes. The efficient shape allows you to ride smaller wings or smaller foils in the same conditions. It is designed to perform when others are still waiting for wind.
