The X-Project is unlike any other watersports event.
Set high in the Swiss Alps, it brings together the world's most creative and versatile athletes across wingfoil, pumpfoil and windsurfing. Over three days, the riders performe giving their all in their respective disciplines.
This year, ENSIS riders Balz Müller, Michi Näf, Florian Crausaz and Gian Bohlhalder joined the action, representing the brand at one of the most innovative freestyle events on the calendar.

Where Different Foil Disciplines Meet
Hosted on the stunning lake of St. Moritz, Switzerland, the X-Project combines world-class riding with a unique crossover competition format.
Rather than focusing on a single discipline, the event brings together wingfoiling, pumpfoiling, parawing and windsurfing, creating an environment where riders challenge themselves while inspiring one another.
As ENSIS rider Michi Näf explains:
The X-Project is unique because it brings together so many different disciplines like wingfoiling, pumpfoiling, parawing and windsurfing. It's not really about competing against each other. It's more of a show where everyone shares their passion, pushes their limits and inspires each other".

ENSIS on the Water
Balz Müller, Michi Näf, Florian Crausaz and Gian Bohlhalder spent three days riding, pushing new tricks and sharing the water with some of the world's best foilers.
Beyond the competition itself, the event offered unforgettable riding locations in the Engadin region, where alpine scenery meets perfect foil conditions.
For Michi, one session stood above all the rest:
We even got to ride at Lago Bianco on the Bernina Pass, over 2,200 meters above sea level. It honestly felt like surfing on another planet. You're surrounded by glaciers, mountains and even cows. It doesn't feel real. It feels like you're part of a movie".

More Than a Competition
Beyond the results, the X-Project is about bringing together athletes who share the same passion for innovation and progression.
As Michi puts it:
No matter what equipment you're riding, everyone shares the same passion and that's what creates such an amazing atmosphere".

Rider Q&A | Michi Näf
Which ENSIS setup were you riding during the event and what did you like most about it?
For the X-Project, I used different setups depending on the discipline. For wingfoiling, I rode the ENSIS TOPSPIN ACE with the Infinity ACE foil. In lighter wind, I used the 990 front wing with a 5 m² wing and a 67 liter board. When the wind picked up, I switched to the 690 front wing, a 4 m² wing and my 54 liter board. That setup covered pretty much every wingfoiling condition.
For parawing, I was mostly riding the new ENSIS ROGER 4.7 together with the new Flow 1080 foil. I loved how playful the setup felt. The Flow 1080 is fast, super easy to pump and lets you carve really hard. Riding the ROGER high up in the mountains almost felt more like paragliding than parawinging.

Was there a moment during the event that really stood out for you?
Honestly, my favourite moment was the trip up to the Bernina Pass. Riding together in such an incredible location, drawing the Xs on the water and sharing the experience with everyone was something really special. There was no pressure to perform. We were just having fun, cheering each other on and enjoying every session together. That's definitely the memory I'll take home from this event.

If you had to describe the X-Project in three words, which ones would you choose?
Passion. Adventure. Stoke.
Anything you'd like to add?
A huge thanks to ENSIS and everyone who made the X-Project possible. It was an unforgettable experience and I can't wait for the next edition. See you on the water! 🤙
