Poland? For Foiling? Turns out – yes!

When ENSIS team rider Balz Müller travelled to Poland for the first time to attend the King of the Bay event, he didn’t really know what to expect. Poland isn’t exactly the first country that comes to mind when you think of world-class wind destinations. But that changed quickly. The wind, the setup, the riders – it didn’t take long for Balz to realise: Poland rocks for wind sports.

Conditions and Spots

Along the Baltic Sea coast, the wind is steady with plenty of great spots. The Hel Peninsula and Rewa are the main spots – shallow lagoons, consistent winds, and a layout that works for just about every wind direction. Spring and autumn deliver strong westerlies, while summer offers light thermals and warm water. Ideal for everything from freeride to foil racing. Inland, the Mazury Lake District also has wind-friendly lakes – perfect for relaxed summer sessions and free ride foiling

A Growing Community

What surprised us most is how alive and connected the Polish wind sports community is. From local shredders to passionate shop owners and event crews, there’s a real sense of shared stoke. You feel it on the beach and in the water!  Poland’s wind sports scene is passionate and growing fast!

King of the Bay

One of the highlights of Balz’s trip was joining King of the Bay, held in Rewa – Poland’s wind capital. The event has grown into one of the largest multi-discipline wind festivals in Central Europe, bringing together windsurfers, kitesurfers, wing foilers, pumpfoilers, for four packed days of action, testing, and community.

Together with our Polish partner EASY-surfshop, ENSIS was right in the heart of it. Balz spent the weekend meeting riders, answering questions, and – of course – sending it. One of the most memorable moments was a night race with wings lit up with LED strips.

If you want the full recap, check out EASY-surfshop’s write-up here. And if you’re ever in Poland and need gear, tips, or support – they’re the crew to talk to. Friendly, knowledgeable, and fully stocked with ENSIS gear.

So, should you consider Poland?

Absolutely. It’s accessible, affordable, and full of passionate riders. Whether you’re chasing flat water, open sea, or just want to test new gear with a rad community, Poland is worth putting on your wind map. It was Balz’s first time – but definitely not the last.
