The Power of Aluula in ENSIS’ New Wings
We can’t wait to introduce the power of ALUULA in our latest designs: the SCORE Limited Edition and the DRIVE. The high-performing ALUULA materials in these new designs is known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Its fabric is ideal for constructing lightweight yet incredibly durable wing foiling wings. The ENSIS SCORE LTD wing is setting a new standard for versatility and performance in the industry.
How does Aluula improve my performance?
We spoke with our team rider Joshua Pretorius on all the benefits of ALUULA. He said “So ALUULA brings the lightweight, rigid performance, and then the hybrid construction brings the nice handling qualities, the performance qualities that we desire.” ENSIS have harnessed the qualities of ALUULA to its best ability, by using the two different materials across the design in the most appropriate areas. The choice of ALUULA Gold™ on the leading edge ensures durability where it’s needed most, resisting the full force of the wind. In contrast, the lighter ALUULA Aeris™ is used on the wingtips and struts, where the stress is less intense. ALUULA Aeris™ is the most lightweight and durable of the ALUULA fabrics. It’s stronger than nylon and polyester and can be seamlessly joined using ultrasonic welding. This cutting-edge material offers exceptional performance, making it the ultimate choice for lightweight and high-performance wings.
The combination of these materials creates a balanced and responsive wing, allowing a more comfortable riding experience that does not compromise on performance. The ultra-thin profile, as a result of using Aluula fabric, contributes to the SCORE’s exceptional wind range, allowing you to ride in a wider variety of conditions, and with its UV-resistant properties, the SCORE is built to last. Josh speaks of his experience with ALUULA on the water, “since the ALUULA allows a thinner profile, the SCORE LTD’s wind range is absolutely insane”!

How are the new designs different?
We’ve strategically placed stiffer fabrics in high-stress areas and lighter materials in less demanding segments. The window layout has been simplified for a clear view, and the battens are now a lightweight, durable, and easily foldable foam. The SCORE LTD is really well balanced while flagged-out and when flying, together with its featherlight weight, it’s perfect for down-winding. The Drive will perform strongest as a light-wind wing due to its easy handling and pumping ability.
We’ve refined the wing profiles across the board, and have turbo charged them with ALUULA fabrics. The flatter entry and set-back draft make the wings easier to handle and reduce strain on the front hand. The profile delivers exceptional forward drive, when powered, and remains stable across a wide wind range. Our new hybrid constructions allow us to use lighter fabric on the wingtips without compromising performance. This enhances the overall flying experience and enables natural pumping.
One of the standout features of the new design is its forward-shifted centre of effort. This allows the wing to effortlessly fly upwind once the canopy has filled with air. Wing foiling freeriders will be amazed by the radical upwind and downwind angles.
A Wing for Riders Wanting the Best
We’re certain that the SCORE Limited Edition offers unmatched performance and experience. Its versatility and comfort makes it a standout choice for riders wanting the very best. Joshua Pretorius is confident that the comfort of this wing will also allow riders to fly faster, “It’s a no-brainer, actually. For most riders, you can probably go faster, because when that gust comes, the wing effortlessly handles the power.” Thanks to its lightweight design and UV-resistant, durable fabrics, the wing is a standout choice in today’s market.
